Our past guests share the experience of their stay at Pineacre on the Lake in these testimonials.
I am actually hesitant to write a review as this lovely place created by Tanya and Rocky with so much love and dedication should remain a well-kept secret. The house is just WOW, the location is breath taking and the views are just unbelievable. Tanya and Rocky are very nice hosts always available to help and support. You can especially feel their dedication and commitment to make Pineacre on the Lake something special in the breakfast arrangement which is way beyond a normal B&B breakfast and served on your private patio where you can enjoy it with a nice view on the lake and a few hummingbirds visiting you. You should also spend time on the private dock and swim in the crystal-clear water of the lake or even use the available Kayaks and Canoes to discover the lake on your own. The place is extraordinary, the hosts are extraordinary and therefore your stay in Pineacre will be extraordinary. But as mentioned before — this should remain a secret 😉
This property is a little slice of Heaven!! We were overwhelmed by breathtaking views, premium suites, gourmet breakfasts and amazing hosts. Rocky and Tanya put all their passion and care into creating an exceptional experience for their visitors.
As a retired travel agent, I have inspected many properties around the world. I would rate this as a 5++ star. The three rental suites are beautifully appointed, with fantastic beds (most important), kitchenettes, large luxury bathrooms and gorgeous views of Lake Okanagan. The gourmet breakfasts are incredible!
There is a large dock and access to swimming, canoeing and kayaking. Although there are many stairs to the dock, it’s totally worth it!
Pine Acre is in a perfect location for enjoying the wineries and fresh produce of the Okanagan.
Thanks to Rocky for his great recommendations of wineries and restaurants in the area. We will happily refer our friends and look forward to a return visit.
My sister and I spent 2 days here at the end of June and I was very sorry that it wasn’t for a longer stay. Our hosts Rocky & Tanya were very warm and welcoming although we only met Tanya on our last morning when she served our breakfast as she had only arrived home after midnight that morning after a horrendous day trying to fly home. We stayed in the Hummingbird suite which had 2 twin beds. The bathroom was huge and had a wonderful rainfall shower. We appreciated the kitchenette and our private patio overlooking Lake Oakanagan was the perfect place to enjoy our wonderful breakfast (brought down to us every morning) which had everything you would want to start your day off right, from the fresh fluffy eggs and turkey sausages to the delicious fruit salad and multi grain toast with jam. There’s a Keurig machine in the room so you can make your own coffee (tea is also provided). If you need it, there’s a microwave and mini fridge. The private entrance for the 3 suites is very handy.
This was truly the most beautiful B&B that I have ever stayed at; the view is spectacular, overlooking the lake. We walked down the many steps (over 170) to the dock a couple of times which takes about 10 minutes going up and went kayaking one morning. There are also canoes if you prefer, both are provided at no charge. Outside our patio, we saw more Hummingbirds than I have ever seen. There are 2 feeders located at the upper level of the house and it was rare not to see several at a time. We even had a chipmunk visit us outside with butterflies flying around the pretty flowers.
Rocky provided with a lot of information about restaurants and places to visit in the area and even jury rigged a camera charger that wasn’t the right size to give my camera a partial charge which got me to my last day on holiday.
Even though Pineacre on the Lake was our most expensive B&B on our trip (we stayed at 4), it was well worth it, even for those that might not be able to make the climb up from the dock. The gorgeous house was built by Rocky & Tanya especially to be a B&B with their home on the upper level and the 3 B&B suites below and they knew what they were doing. I hope to be able to return one day, but this time for a longer stay.
Everything, and I mean everything, about our stay at Pineacre was wonderful…from the booking, to the advance area information they shared prior to arrival, to the warm and thorough greeting, to the beautiful and very comfortable accommodations, to the delicious and unique in-room breakfasts, to the amazing lake views in a private, quiet setting.…was absolutely first-class. I suppose that’s because Tanya and Rocky are truly first-class people, extremely friendly and helpful, and world travelers themselves. I wish there was a rating higher than 5 because they deserve it. All of their units are excellent, but we liked ours on the end which was a tad more secluded. There is a lakefront and dock available on the property, but it’s a bit of a walk down and back up. Bottom line…you will not be disappointed if you stay here.
“We stayed two nights at Pineacre. We were treated royally from beginning to end by owners Tanya and Rocky. The suite was like our home away from home – comfortable, well appointed, very spacious and self contained. The view directly from our suite over Lake Oakanagan was breath-taking. We thoroughly enjoyed our leisurely walks down to the Lake. It was our best experience with B&Bs in comfort, luxury and location. We highly recommend it. testimonial
“Whenever I feel the need to get away from it all, I think back to our few days break at Pine Acre last summer. Waking up in the morning to a vista of the Okanagan Lake while still in the comfort of a cozy feather bed is only part of the charm of Pine Acre. The self-catering suite is decorated to a superior standard and provides everything you need. There’s plenty to do in the surrounding areas but relaxing on the patio and watching the sunset was equally enjoyable. Tanya and Rocky are wonderful hosts who are easy going, extremely hospitable and very knowledgeable of the area. Hopefully, our visit was the first of many to come.” testimonial
It was our first real vacation since the birth of our first child. We chose the perfect place to rest and recharge. It was a bed and breakfast overlooking the epically beautiful Lake Okanagan. They say “God is in the details.” As we unpacked, I looked around at the finely crafted wood beams that supported the stunning home belonging to Rocky and Tanya, and deeply pondered that quote. Houses are built by power tools, but a home is built by hand and by heart. After a week at Pineacre on the Lake my wife Nadia and I were clear that the only way Rocky and Tanya do anything is by hand and by heart. Like their home, they are a gift to the mind, body and soul. There is one thing that would’ve made our stay even better – a sighting of Ogopogo! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogopogo) testimonial
